Prana’s PBT2 Reverses the Degenerative Effects of Aging in the Brain

In a laboratory test on mice Prana Biotechnology, a leading developer of treatments for neurodegenerative diseases has established the effects of PBT2 in reversing the effects of aging in the brain. PBT2 actually succeeded in promoting neurogenesis thereby reversing learning and memory losses caused by aging. PBT2 not only promoted the birth of new cells in the part of the brain called hippocampus that is most affected by Alzheimer’s disease, it also helped clear amyloids from the brain. This restored memory and learning in the old mice. Old mice treated with PBT2 were actually able to perform the same learning and memory tasks as the young mice. Cognitive decline occurs with aging in all mammals and PBT2 has been able to not only stop but also reverse this decline in mice. This predicts a positive treatment for Alzheimer’s disease in humans in the near future.
