The soaring level of “food insecurity” among undergraduates is identified by recent studies

The recent studies on food insecurity has stated that a previous year, a surprising number of undergraduates at Oregon university are found to be “food insecure” to some point with promising insinuation for emotional and physical health along with academic success and other issues. In concern to obesity and a few undergraduates packing on “the freshman 15” and gaining weight, one more fact is that they are not able to get required amount of healthy food as it is of high price and people have limited income and less social support when compared to other groups. According to Danie Lopez-Cevallos, an associate director of Research at OSU’s Center for Latino/a studies and Engagement, “Based on other research that’s been done, we expected some amount of food concerns among college students.” As per the researches, a mix of increasing college expenditure, less income and advanced generation attending the classes, the changing environment and demographic drift is making it more important when compared to the past.
