Things to know about the quality of whey protein
A new research related to daily proteins will be presented at SupplySide West by Chris Mohr, PhD, RD, nutrition and exercise psychology expert. The paper is entitled “Protein Quality: It Matters” and talks about the benefits of whey protein instead of other types of proteins in regards of nutrition, flavor and functionality.
It is considered that the recommended daily protein intake is estimated to approximately 50 g for an adult, but this amount is minimal for avoiding a deficiency. Dr. Mohr recommends 90 g of proteins to consume daily for adults and 120 g of proteins for active people. “In addition to quantity, it's important for people to consider the quality of their protein source, as it varies”, explains Dr. Mohr.
In the presentation, Dr. Mohr talks about the benefits of whey protein, such as health maintaining, curb hunger, getting lean, recovery after exercise and muscle loss reduction.
