Preventing Illness By Safe Food Storage

One of the major reasons of illness in people is their habits of not storing food safely. Scientists have found that proper refrigeration of foods and beverages can substantially prevent instances of illness in men and women. The FDA has come up with an announcement to this effect on the World Health Day. Bacteria growth in stored food is a common problem but if food is stored in proper temperature by chilling it can considerably prevent such occurrences. It is these bacteria that make one seek after consumption of food and with the reason eliminated; chances of illness would be fewer. Scientists suggest that food, especially the poultry products, seafood, meat, and eggs should not be retained in room temperature for more than two hours. Equally important is proper storing in the freezer or the refrigerator. There should be enough room for air circulation in them after storage of food that virtually means these devices should never be jam packed.
