Routine test recommended for patients with invasive breast cancer
Breast cancer is one of the terrifying diseases in women. The sad part is it is growing at higher rate. Experts feel that awareness and regular check-ups are keys to control and conquer it. As per the new guiding principle issued by the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the College of American Pathologists suggests that the women suffering invasive breast cancer should be regularly tested for HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2) gene and protein. This Standardized HER2 screen test is a big help it ensures that women should get appropriate therapy for speedy recovery. A woman facing this problem should be aware and should also go in for regular check-ups.
Dr. Antonio Wolff, the co-chair of the panel explains, “In the growing area of personalized medicine, it is now more than ever critical to correctly identify the subtype of breast cancer affecting an individual, so that the right treatment can be given to the right patient.”
