Scientists Devise New Ways of Looking At Your Brain

Perhaps the most unique and complex part of human anatomy is the brain. Apropos to its complexity, it also performs multiple functions. Naturally the scientists and physicians have to resort to very high levels of technologies to find out facts about it. Basically it is the elongated donut shaped portion in human brain that regulates major part of physical functions.
The structure is so small that even its name seems longer in comparison. In fact this “midbrain periaqueductal gray region” that is also known as PAG is one of the most difficult parts in the brain reason for fathoming. It has remained an enigma for medical scientists so far.
 According to Professor Satpute who with the support team finally found the solution; “ The PAG’s functional properties occur at such small spatial scales that we need to capture its activity at very high resolution in order to understand it.” To achieve the desired goal Ajay Satpute and his team resorted to high field strength fMRI magnet.
