A Repost Of United Nations States 10 Million Kids Are Yet To Get Polio Vaccine

As per a report of United Nations, millions of kids in the Middle East are yet to get vaccination of polio this month following the crippling sickness resurfaced in conflict-hit Syria. Some programs aiming mass vaccinations have before now been start on in Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Syria, while alike movement will start on March 9 in Lebanon, the UN Children's Fund UNICEF. Khouzama al-Rasheed, a medical worker at a health centre in rural Damascus, was quoted as saying in the statement “We need to get two drops of polio vaccine into the mouth of every child under the age of five, regardless of their previous immunization history, every time there is a campaign,". Maria Calivis, UNICEF regional director for the Middle East and North Africa said "To vaccinate so many children in different countries is a huge undertaking,". "Each country faces its own set of challenges in order to make the campaign effective—above all in Syria—but this is the only way we can ensure children across the region are properly protected against this terrible disease."
