Girl Shaved Head To Support Cancer Friend; Banned From School; Allowed Again After Facebook Campaign

Kamryn Renfro, just 9-year-old, never thought she will be banned from school while trying to support her cancer-stricken friend. She shaved her head to do so, but the Caprock Academy found it to be not abiding with the dress code. According to the President and Chair of Caprock Academy Board of Directors, Catherine Norton Breman, the dress code of the school is to promote safety, uniformity, and a non-distracting environment for the students. Kamryn said she didn't want her best friend to be the only one with shaved head and so she shaved her too. Breman said the shaved heads are not permitted in the school as per the policy of dress code. Jamie Renfro, mother of Kamryn, was surprised to see her daughter's act, but she was more shocked with the behavior of school that wouldn't allow her to attend the class unless she wears a wig or grew out her hair. She took to Facebook to express all these. The board of directors of the school took up the matter again on Tuesday night and voted 3-1 in favor of the little girl and now she has been granted back to school. Kamryn and her friend Delaney Clements goes to different school. Delaney's mother Wendy Campbell said the decision of Kamryn touched her as at such a young age she has done something bold.
