Brain cells, boosted by a cup of tea
It is claimed that the natural ingredients contained in a cup of tea can improve the power of the brain and can increase alertness. There were 44 young volunteers of which mental performance was analyzed by researchers for the effects of the key chemicals contained in tea. The volunteers, all younger than 40 years were found to have reduced tenderness. This phenomenon was reported by the Dutch researchers in the journal Nutritional Neuroscience.
“The results suggest the combination helps to focus attention during a demanding cognitive task”, they said.
“Taken together, these two studies provide evidence that consumption of black tea improves cognitive function, in particular helping to focus attention during the challenge of a demanding mental task”, said Dr Tim Bond, of the industry-backed Tea Advisory Panel. “As a result, all this new data adds to the growing science that drinking tea, preferably four cups of tea a day, is good for our health and well being”.
