Eating fruit and vegetable reduces risk of mortality

Fruits and vegetables are always considered good for health. Eating these can always save us from different types of diseases. Recently a European study has brought into that consuming fruit and vegetables can decrease mortality rate at great extent especially for cardiovascular diseases. According to the research consuming 569 grams of fruit and vegetable per day can reduce the risk of mortality by 10% and also delays the risk of mortality by 1.12 years. One of the authors of the study, María José Sánchez Pérez, director of the Andalusian School of Public Health's (EASP) Granada Cancer Registry explains the work, “This study is the most significant epidemiological study that this association has examined to date. There is now sufficient evidence of the beneficial effect of fruit and vegetable consumption in the prevention of cancer and other chronic diseases. For this reason, one of the most effective preventative measures is promoting their consumption in the population.”
