Infants` mental disability blood test by FDA

According to a new study, a blood test was invented by the Food and Drug Administration, in order to predict mental disabilities in infants. The blood test works by analyzing the infants` genetic code. The blood test is able to detect associations in infants with conditions, such as Down syndrome, DiGeorge syndrome and similar developmental diseases. According to the National Institutes of Health, approximately 2% to 3% of U.S. children suffer from a certain mental disability. The blood test is called the CytoScan Dx Assay which is proven to be helpful for doctors who are able to easier and earlier diagnose disabilities in children but to also provide them with proper support and care. Cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anemia are two more of the conditions which could be identified by using the blood test. The screening program is considered to be one of the most successful programs for public health.
