New Look On the Effects of Nuclear Disaster

Research conducted by Loyola University Chicago on combined radiation effect indicated that radiation exposure, trauma and burns are the potential effects of nuclear bomb or reactor. This study was conducted to provide more insight on effects of nuclear bomb for effective treatment of victims injured during terrorist attack or warfare. The study findings showed that adverse effects are observed when radiation and burns occur synergistically. They break down tight intestines junctions releasing bacteria out of the intestine that causes death through sepsis. Researchers also showed that combination of radiation and burns increased the intensity of leakage 100 times more than when each of the effects occur independently. "We hope we never will have to respond to a nuclear disaster. But if such a disaster were to occur, our findings could be part of our preparedness." Said Kovac one of the authors, when indicating that they would not like nuclear disaster but their findings would be beneficial if any occurs.
