“HPV vaccination is one of the few tools we have that actually protects against cancer, so it’s important to get girls vaccinated before they become sexually active and are exposed to the virus”, according to Sean O’ Leary, investigator at Children’s Outcomes Research.
A research conducted revealed that it was mostly the Spanish speaking parents whose children were not fully vaccinated. On questioning they came up with typical replies like ignorance of the requirements and undermining “no sex before marriage”. However the non-vaccination was not singular to Spanish speaking families alone and even English speaking families expressed concern over safety of the vaccines leading to their incomplete use in case of girls in the family.
