Study says- Facebook use and eating disorders are related
According to a new study conducted at the Florida State University and published in the International Journal of Eating Disorders states that there is a big relation between the time one spend on the Facebook and the eating disorders one suffers. The more time one spends on the Facebook there is a higher chance of suffering from eating disorders.
The researchers conducted eating attitudes tests for 960 female college students that helped to determine eating disorders. Then these researchers further analyzed the time the respondents were spending on the Facebook every week.
In continuation of experimentation further some participants were given task to spend 20 minutes on Facebook and others were given 20 minutes to research ocelots on Wikipedia. After completing this task, they were asked to continue with eating attitudes test, and also answer questions about their normal use of social network. After analyzing this whole process it was found Facebook is quiet related to eating disorders.
