Adaptability to the Changing World Is an Essential Necessary Skill in the Modern Youth

It has been found that the youth who adapted well to new environments like a new school or neighborhood ended up with a happier frame of mind and better quality of life. The adaptability and resilience of the children reflected on their academic performance as well as their self esteem. Life in today’s world is in a constant state of flux. From school to high school followed by life as single adult, relationships, work atmosphere, children face change repeatedly. The better they are in coping with these changes the more balanced and happier individuals they become. An analysis done by researchers from the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney concluded that adaptable students were able to adjust three things when faced with change or uncertain circumstances: their thinking, their behavior and their emotion. This study will help counselors guide children in their coping skills so that they adjust better to the changes in life that they are faced with.
