Japan research identifies an oral treatment for diabetes
According to a group of Japanese researchers, they invented a new oral treatment for diabetes. A compound that is helpful in body control glucose was invented by a group of scientists from the University of Tokyo. It is considered that too much glucose in the body causes type II diabetes which can further lead to kidney failure, stroke and heart attack.
The compound that was invented by the team of Japanese researchers is called AdipoRon and according to Toshimasa Yamauchi, a member of the research team and lecturer at the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Tokyo, this new compound could represent a new oral treatment method for diabetes.
The results of this study were published in Nature. “More research needs to be done in adiponectin as it is a multi-potent hormone that could prevent cancer, arterial stiffening and many other problems – a firefighter or goalkeeper in the body, so to speak”, said Yuji Matsuzawa, a doctor.
