New improved methods to measure calories

(Health and Beauty News) The initial methods to measure calories are challenged by the new researches. Usually the Calorie count is often determined by a method that was developed in 20th century by ARS chemist Wilbur O. Atwater. Lately David Baer and Janet Novotny the two physiologists from BHNRC made new developments with the Atwater methods. They were conducting a study on energy available from hard foods requiring significant mechanical and enzymatic. They were trying to find out estimates of bioaccessible energy for such food products. They took up two tree nuts almonds and pistachios and started working on their study. However the research was led to expansion Atwater methods and they found out that that a lower estimate for the two tree nuts they opted for study. They claim their modified method is more precise to estimate the amount of calories in hard foods. They are trying to work with similar method with other foods.
