Studies by researchers show the need for better conditioning of the quality of life to reduce chronic conditions and the health-life amongst the older population
Data’s from 27,334 participants from the Medicare Health Outcomes Survey were studied. An assessment was made to understand relation amongst the limitations faced by an elderly’s regular activity and the quality of health-related life. Adults older than 65 years were studied from 2004 to 2006. Follow-up years were 2 years. The follow-up included more limitation in the lives of the elderly in terms of activities relating to daily lifestyle.
Results showed with an increase in limitation of the daily-life activities, the overall health related lifestyles of these individuals took a tumbler. It depreciated considerably. A change in limitations faced during daily activities of these individuals showed a direct effect on the quality of health for them and vice-versa. It is important to use “interventions designed to reduce the emergence of multiple chronic conditions, such as physical activity, reductions in smoking rates, and improved and coordinated access to health care services".
