Bad weather Conditions are linked to train suicides in Japan

According to a new study published in Journal of Affective Disorders says that there is increase in number of suicides on Japanese railways due to continuous days of bad weather conditions. The research also advised that the train operators should increase their patrols during such rainy periods. This study found its basis from the beliefs about mood and weather. This research is an attempt to find the exact reasons behind deaths that has increased the number of suicides in Japan. As the study was deeply covered, the weather records showed that there are more suicides after three to seven days of dim sunlight as compared to other rainy days. The study has also concluded that the railway operators should add to the use of blue or white light at stations during rainy days. This will help to discourage suicides. Such measures can really be helpful in curbing down the suicide rate in Japan.
