Cocaine can be useful to increase HIV vulnerability

HIV is a deadly disease that has conquered the world faster than a war. Scientists and medical practitioners are very worried in finding solution to this virus. All over the world teams of researchers are working dedicatedly to find out every possible cure of this problem. The latest report published in the Journal of Leukocyte Biology proves that the cocaine can prove to be very useful in increasing one's vulnerability HIV infection. This drug could be of ample help to the scientist. This will help to weaken the virus and help the patient in a better way. The senior author, Dimitrios N. Vatakis, Ph.D., a scientist with UCLA's Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology and the UCLA AIDS Institute explains, “We ultimately hope that our studies will provide a better understanding of how drugs of abuse impact how our body defends itself against disease," said. "Such discovery can significantly improve the quality of life of drug users.”
