Discovered a biological Link between Diabetes and Heart Disease
As per new heart research published in journal Nature the researchers have come across a biological link between the diabetes and the heart diseases. According to this study increase in diabetes can lead to increase in risk of heart diseases. It says the biological pathway can be activated when the blood sugar levels are abnormally high this can causes irregular heartbeats, a condition known as cardiac arrhythmia that is linked with heart failure and sudden cardiac death.
The researchers suggest that one should be very careful about their increasing sugar levels. One should always work to keep it in control otherwise it may lead to cardiovascular diseases.
The senior author, Donald Bers, chair of the UC Davis Department of Pharmacology and senior author of the study explains, “The novel molecular understanding we have uncovered paves the way for new therapeutic strategies that protect the heart health of patients with diabetes.”
