People react selfishly to wide faced man
According to a new paper based on four studies, a group of researchers have shown that other people behave more selfishly when they are around men with wider faces. Their own selfish behavior elicits selfishness in others. This paper adds to the previous findings about wide faced man which showed that they are more deceptive and aggressive and not trustworthy.
The paper was co authored by Michael P. Haselhuhn and Elaine M. Wong. The new paper builds on two previous papers by the same authors. The first one published in 2011 showed that men with wider faces make good CEOs who lead financially successful firms. The second one was published in 2012 and claimed that wide faced men are more likely to lie and cheat.
According to the authors all three papers show the significance of power. "People need to think more carefully about how they use power and how they can use it in helpful ways," she said.
