Surprising link between car crashes and adverse pregnancy results

According a surprising study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine clearly shows that the car accidents could really dangerous for the pregnant women. Its effect can be worsened if they are not wearing seat belts while traveling. These road accidents can lead to damage their pregnancy.

 Not only one can get hurt or cause injuries, it may affect the mental situation of the lady. The traumas are one the leading pointers of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Through this study researchers found out that the pregnancy could be affected in these four ways that is premature birth, placental abruption, premature rupture of the membranes, and stillbirth. Such situations can be very dangerous.The lead researcher, Catherine J. Vladutiu, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina's Gillings School of Global Public Health explains, “This study highlights the importance of crashes during pregnancy and their possible adverse effects on pregnancy outcomes. Clinicians should be aware of these effects and should advise pregnant women about the risk of being in a crash and the long-term consequences that crashes can have on their pregnancies.”
