Wonder sunscreen helps to check skin cancer
Sunscreen is believed to be a protection against the UV rays. It helps to maintain skin health and checks it from getting darker. Also it is a great protection against sunburn. According to latest research conducted at Queensland University of Technology has proved the effectiveness of wonder sunscreen. As per this study it was found that sunscreens help to protect our skin against skin cancer. It contains ‘superhero gene’ that helps to maintain and protect against three types of skin cancer.
The researchers have deeply examined the effectiveness of sunscreen in preventing skin cancers. They conducted skin biopsies on 57 people and have come to conclusions that sunscreens are helping factors.
The lead researcher Elke Hacker further explains it, “As soon as our skin becomes sun damaged, the p53 gene goes to work repairing that damage and thereby preventing skin cancer occurring. But over time if skin is burnt regularly, the p53 gene mutates and can no longer do the job it was intended for - it no longer repairs sun damaged skin and without this protection skin cancers are far more likely to occur.”
