Screening for patients with rheumatism helps to get insight into cardiovascular disease

Previously the researchers have been observing that the patients suffering with rheumatoid arthritis has comparatively high mortality due to cardiovascular disease. The patients bearing a particular form of rheumatism 50% more possibility of suffering from the cardiovascular disease as compared to the healthy people belonging to same gender. Inger Meek of the University of Twente, a PhD candidate conducted a research on the multiple forms of rheumatic disease and then studied the risk of cardiovascular disease. The research states that patients with gout in particularly high risk of cardiovascular disease. The study has worked on the different factors of the disease. Further it says Gout is a rheumatic disease where uric acid crystals are dropped in the joints. It happens due to the poor metabolism in the body resulting uric acid accumulation. The Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system works against the own body and inflammations in the joints development.
