Breast health improvement and benign breast disease avoided in girls by peanut butter
According to a recent study, girls who eat peanut butter can improve their breast health but can also avoid benign breast disease. This study is led by Washington University School of Medicine and proves that girls aged between 9 and 15 years with a daily consumption of peanut butter have 39% less chances to develop any kind of benign breast diseases by the age of 30. This study is published in the journal `Breast Cancer Research and Treatment`.
The researchers suggested that other food items such as lentils, soybeans and corn may also prove helpful in preventing breast disease. Lead study author Graham Colditz, MD, associate director for cancer prevention and control at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, advised girls to include nuts, peanut butter and other vegetables instead of junk food to avoid any type of disease related to obesity.
