European study suggests that men with type 1 diabetes are better at blood sugar control than women

As per a new research presented in the meeting of European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) in Barcelona, Spain, it was proved that the Men having type1 diabetes have better control over their blood sugar levels as compared to the women with the same issue. The research also brought forward that there is no major difference between the blood sugar control levels in boys and girls experiencing same conditions. The lead researcher Professor Sarah Wild from the University Of Edinburgh, UK explains the study, “In this analysis of type 1 diabetes data from several countries males were more likely to have a better blood sugar control profile than females. Further work is required to investigate explanations for this finding. One explanation could be that women tend to have lower haemoglobin levels than men which could explain the higher HbA1c levels, but further research is required to confirm this.”
