As per a new study it is quite expected that the common drug that is usually used to treat nail fungus may offer cure against even HIV. According to a new laboratory research, the anti-fungal drug Ciclopirox has killed the HIV-infected cells by blocking the cells' mitochondria. Also the drug Ciclopirox has eliminated HIV from cell cultures. The good thing the virus did not return when the anti-fungal drug was curbed. The scientists perceive it to be a good sign. Well the effectiveness of the drug still needs confirmation after human trials. This test could be quick and cheap as the drug has been permitted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This could change the whole scenario and can be a leading step in of medical sciences. This drug is expected to be better then the current drug cocktails that help to control HIV but cannot kill the cells.
