New gene may prevent HIV from spreading

According to a revolutionary research at King’s College London for the first time ever a new gene that will prevent spreading of HIV that further leads to AIDS. They have found a gene that can prevent this deadly virus. If this gene could be worked out properly then this can be effective way to solve HIV issues. As this will be a less toxic treatment as it is through natural system. The principle researcher Dr Caroline Goujon and Professor Mike Malim at the Department of Infectious Diseases, King's College London explains their work, “This is an extremely exciting finding which advances our understanding of how HIV virus interacts with the immune system and opens up opportunities to develop new therapies to treat the disease. Until now we knew very little about the MX2 gene, but now we recognize both its potent anti-viral function and a key point of vulnerability in the life cycle of HIV.”
