Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy And Its Occurrence In Youth

According to new study of Diabetes Care the occurrence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy among youth is 25.7 percent with type 2 diabetes, which is considerably higher than type 1 diabetes, in youth. Mamta Jaiswal M.B.B.S. from the University of Michigan and her colleagues conducted a study about young generation for estimating the occurrence and threat factor of DPN. This disease not only affects youth in young ages but also make them less energetic to perform task under stress. This degrades health of the body and invites other diseases to that old and weak body. Diabetes in older age and from longer duration of life brings changes in body. Increase in waist size, high blood pressure and low- high cholesterol level is the examples of deformities. Microalbuminuria is linked to DPN in unadjusted examination. The relation between diabetes category and DPN became significant after the adjustments of age factor and sex. "Our findings suggest not only that youth with diabetes are at risk for DPN but also that many already show measurable signs of DPN."
