Environmental Cause of Breast Cancer Unearthed

After a prolonged research the scientists have finally been able to unearth the environmental roots of breast cancer. However their study conducted on animals as well as healthy girls in United States contains some surprising contents for all concerned. Research revolved round study of around 1,200 schoolgirls in U.S those have not developed breast cancer. Yet these girls provided important clue for the researchers in finding the environmental causes of breast cancer. A few of them are early puberty, child bearing in advanced ages, as well as late menopause. Other reasons are exposure to estrogen replacement therapies, alcohol consumption, and above all; exposure to radiation. “Most of breast cancer, particularly in younger women, does not come from family histories”, says Leslie Reinlib of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Yet according to the research team lead by Reinlib, over 80% of the cases of breast cancers have their origin in environmental issues. Exposure to harmful environment is the main cause of breast cancer, they said.
