Health professionals must display for genital damage
According to new research that suggested that the nurses or midwives and GPs in the UK must be active and aware of female genital mutilation (FGM) and if noticed well should report it as child abuse. They should not let it forgo. This is a crime and it needs proper treatment at every end. Not only is this it also believed that the female patients who have cuts on sexual organs they should be referred to the police and other services.
This is a big step to save women and humanity. Medical practitioners should not ignore this arrangement and take it seriously.
Dr Deborah Hodes, from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health explains, “Although the UK may not want to take this position, as it is viewed as too intrusive, it is important to underline the principle that in specific situations where there is a suspicion that girls have undergone FGM, it should not be seen as abusive to undertake such examinations.”
