Main reasons of genetic turmoil found in mysterious matter of DNA

Scientists have made use of latest technology for the first time that analyses the complete genome in order to find the main reason of a genetic disease which was previously known as “Junk DNA”. Actually, pancreatic agenesis happens in babies who are being born without pancreas making them to face lifelong diabetes and digestive problems. During an advanced genetic research, teams of University of Exeter Medical School and Imperial College London identified the condition which is frequently caused by mutations of a newly found gene which is a regulatory element in an isolated part of the genome that can at present be discovered. Thanks to the advances made in genetic sequencing which gave chance for such explorations. Recently published studies in nature Genetics explored that the circumstances are mainly caused by mutations in the dark matter of genomic which are the big stretches of DNA which do not have those genes that report for 99 % of the genome in human. Dr. Mike Weedon, A lead researcher at the University of Exeter Medical School and a senior lecturer said that: “This breakthrough delves into the ‘dark matter’ of the genome, which until recently, was very difficult to systematically study. Now, advances in DNA sequencing technology mean we have the tools to explore these non-protein coding regions far more thoroughly, and we are finding it has a significant impact on development and diseases.”
