The Difference between a Digital Computer and the Human Brain

In the cognitive sciences it was believed that thinking was a process that followed a set of rules like say a computer. But recent research has proved that that thinking was more dependent on context. Many people mistake 798 to be an odd number in spite of being aware of the fact that only the last number dictates whether it is even or odd. Although it is considered a careless mistake, the brain seems to somehow process the first two numbers of 798 in these people. These systematic errors made by some people are highly relevant in the field of education. They are not just careless mistakes but may have a much deeper source. It tells us some important things about the computation of the human brain. The human brain’s input sensitivity may dictate its ability to perform some computations and therefore its processes cannot be compared to a digital computer.
