The Massachusetts general Hospital has launched a group of researchers to study such assumptions. Later on, these researchers believe that the drug angiotensin inhibitor losartan can be considered for the treatment of some cancer conditions.
The drug is hoped to work wonders on patients suffering from pancreatic cancer. In the previous years, losartan was known to be effective in dilating blood vessels in order to carry more blood towards the different parts of the body. The dilation will definitely ease out the pressure made by the process on the walls of the blood vessels.
The theory was tested by combining chemotherapy drugs with losartan and was given to mice with pancreatic and breast cancer. The results revealed that upon application of the drug, the animals’ blood pressure improved.
