Boozy lyrics encourages the youth to drink

Last Friday Night by Katy Perry is one of the boozy songs which was cited by scientists to be very effective in encouraging the youth to drink more liquor.

Songs that are enlisted in the United Kingdom chart were proven to be aiding heavy drinkers to want more according to studies. Popular music lyrics that depict alcoholic content has increased for the past forty years. This was the results of an analysis conducted by scientist to about 6000 singles from the year 1981 to the present. The lyrics were assessed independently to identify their relation to the drinking habit and alcohol consumption of teenagers.

The study singled out Katy Perry’s song which achieved chart popularity in 17 countries. According to the report, “It describes a night of drinking too many shots and engaging in a range of risky and anti-social behaviors with the intention to do it again in the following week.”
