Multiplying Threats of Cancer
Cancer is a major threat not only because it is a renal diseases and almost non-curable at advanced stages but also because it is showing the tendencies for multiplying in future. According to the studies conducted by the Victoria Cancer Council, there could be massive increase of cancer attacks at around 53% in the coming future.
Despite the increased rates of survival of the cancer patients, the disease is also affecting more and more people. According to Tod Harper, around 44 thousand Victorians will diagnose positive for cancer by the year 2027. "Because our population is ageing and growing we will see a significant increase in the number of people that are diagnosed with cancer over the next 15 years," he said.
Need of the hour therefore is effective planning to counter the threat. Such planning would be required in case of health services in general and cancer support services in particular according to the research team.
