TV, computer make kids unhappier

A new research reveals that the children who waste more time in front of TV screens and computer may make them unhappier. Further research found that mothers who dedicate their time and efforts in checking their kid’s exposure to the computers and TVs would help them prevent putting on extra pounds. Researchers have not exactly found the relation between the screens and kid’s happiness and weight. The study is published in JAMA Pediatrics. The co-researcher, Douglas Gentile, an associate professor of psychology at Iowa State University explains, “Parents who read these studies should be heartened that they can make a difference in the health and well-being of their children. The amount is most related to things like physical health and school performance, whereas content is most related to behaviors such as aggression.” The researchers feel living in real world than virtual world is important for a healthier and happy childhood.
