Young women at high risk not to be offered HPV jab

According to a new study conducted and published in the journal Sexually Transmitted Infections stated that the young women who are at the high risk of developing cervical cancer are not likely to be offered the protective HPV jab. If they opt for it then they should take-up complete the course. As per the expert views such women need to get focused to take overall vaccination program. The data was collected on basis of questionnaires answered anonymously by 2247 young girls lying in the age group between 13 to 19 years. It helped cover the national lifestyle data of this age group. All these participants are into the sexual health clinics located in 19 hospitals and 13 community services across England. Authors explain, “Although the [Department of Health] has no explicit targets for vaccine completion, modelling work predicted a significant impact on cervical cancer deaths with an 80% uptake of all three doses.”
