Beta-amyloid can cause Alzheimer's

The scientists from the Stanford University School of Medicine have worked on how through a protein fragment that is beta-amloid can strongly lead to the Alzheimer diseases. This is deadly plan where it first destroys synapses, then turns into plaques and then finally leads to the death of nerve cells. This is a serious disease is one of the biggest problems in America and has affected 5 million people. This study has looked into the serious consequences of the diseases and has also looked for the real reason behind it. The lead author of this study, Carla Shatz, PhD, professor of neurobiology and of biology from the university explains the scope of research that “Our discovery suggests that Alzheimer's disease starts to manifest long before plaque formation becomes evident. I hope this finding will be enticing enough to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies that someone will try pushing this idea forward.”
